My First Quilt Show

Never in a million years did I think I would participate in a quilt festival! But after looking at a TON of quilts online…why not me? Those of you who read this blog (all 5 of you!) have seen this quilt that I made for Preston before. Welcome to those of you who are visiting from the Quilt Festival!

Preston's quilt 004

Made of “Asian inspired” fabrics for my teenage son and hand-quilted by my mom. I know, it makes me feel like a fraud for not doing it all myself, but at least I’m giving her credit!

Thanks to Amy at Park City Girl for hosting this quilt festival. What a brilliant idea! I’ve seen some amazing quilts!

  1. This quilt is so great! I love the bright colors! Wow, anything hand quilted just amazes me. Thanks for the comment on my blog; you asked about my machine. I sew on a Bernina Activa 230. I have had it for almost a year and I just love it, not one issue. It is not a large machine so I can't quilt much bigger than a twin/double size. It gets easier with every quilt I do…very happy with it!

  2. Love your quilt! I have been looking for a king size quilt to go on my bed and haven't found exactly what I want until I went into Pottery Barn and saw an old farmhouse looking one for a alot of $$, so I want to make one myself now! I may call you for help!

  3. I think it is a beautiful quilt. You made it, your mother quilted it. What a treasure! Thanks for the kind words about my quilt–and if you are interested in the pattern (it's only $5), let me know!

P.S. I love the beautiful yellow and white background of your blog and the pretty striped border!
