Blogger’s Quilt Festival – Spring 2012

The Bloggers’ Quilt Festival at Amy’s Creative Side started today. When you’re looking for a little something relaxing to do, click on over and peruse the hundreds of interesting quilts that will be shown. I always find a lot of inspiration and discover new blogs to follow.

Amy's creative side

I refer to this as my Plaid Houndstooth Quilt. If you’re a follower, you’ve already seen and heard a little bit about it in a previous post. I wanted to save it and “unveil” it at this show, but I was so excited about how it turned out I just couldn’t wait!

The idea for this quilt came to me during an episode of Top Chef. The chefs were cooking in Target and one of the chefs put on a brown, tan and pink plaid hat. The light when on and I couldn’t forget the idea. Having made this quilt twice already, it took me a while to summon up the energy to do it a third time. But all the time and effort was worth it!

I love everything about this quilt! And finally, finally, this one is for me to keep 🙂

  1. I am very impressed that you made one of these 3 times over!
Seeing one of yours during a past festival was what convinced me I had to make one! It was a well received Christmas gift, this past year. There is a lot more to a houndstooth quilt than people realize!
Nice job turning it into a plaid, too!

  2. Love the houndstooth and the great colors. Congrats on getting finished one to keep! We quilters are always last on our lists 🙂 Thank you for sharing your quilt's story.

  3. Leslie, we are still LOVING the gray & white houndstooth you made for my daughter's nursery. This new houndstooth is just beautiful! After seeing one of these up close I can't believe you've done three!! You're amazing!

  4. Not a very clever comment but I have to say that I LOVE it ; )

Beautiful and sophisticated, all those little pieces in there. With a vision and patience like that, there's no doubt you deserve to keep this for yourself!!! Love the palette you chose.

  5. The President and Chief Executive Officer PPCBL, Liaquat Durrani said here on
