Resistance

I've been have a really hard time deciding on a pattern for my next quilt, Project #29, on The Unfinished Projects List. Since I will see it everyday, I want it to be perfect. No regrets. I've been thinking about it for weeks. It's not like this will be that last thing I ever do. I can make dozens more. But a decision must be made. I WILL make my first cut...today.

A pro views her work as craft, not art.Not because she believes art is devoid ofa mystical dimension. On the contrary.She understands that all creative endeavor is holy,but she doesn't dwell on it.

She knows if she thinks about that too much,

it will paralyze her.

So she concentrates on technique.

The sign of the amateur is overglorification of

and preoccupation with the mystery.

The professional shuts up.

She doesn't talk about it.

She does her work.
